Remove a phone or tablet from Cybermatic
Revoke the enrollment, remove the app, and tidy the asset — including what to do for a lost or stolen device.
- 1Start with revocation — it is the part that matters. Open Settings → Agents → Mobile, find the device, and select Revoke. The device stops reporting immediately, whether or not anyone can reach the phone. This is the step to do first for a lost or stolen device, and it is sufficient on its own — removing the app is cleanup, not security.
- 2On the device. Delete the Cybermatic Device Trust app the way you would remove any app: press and hold the icon, then delete (iOS) or uninstall (Android). Removing the app stops the device sending reports. It does not revoke the enrollment on its own, which is why revocation comes first — an app can always be reinstalled.
- 3Afterwards, in Cybermatic. The device's last-seen time freezes at its final report, and after 7 days a finding opens noting that it stopped reporting. Once you have removed it on purpose, delete the asset (Assets → select the device → Delete). That closes its findings and frees the slot against your plan's asset limit. A revoked enrollment cannot be reused. If the same person gets a replacement device, create a new enrollment for it.
- 4Employee departures and BYOD. For a personal device leaving the company, revoking is the whole job from Cybermatic's side — there is nothing on the device to wipe, because the app only ever read posture information. Telling the employee they can delete the app closes the loop, but their device is no longer reporting the moment you revoke.
Tip: Revoke first, delete the app second. Revocation works even when the phone is lost, switched off, or already in someone else's hands.
