Add assets manually (computers, servers, anything without an API)

Track office machines, on-prem hardware, and SaaS tools so your inventory — and your compliance paperwork — is actually complete.

  1. 1In the portal, open Assets and click Add asset manually (top right).
  2. 2Fill in the form: a descriptive name (e.g. "Office laptops — sales team"), the type (Workstation, Server, Network device, SaaS application, Mobile device, or Other), and the operating system with version if you know it (e.g. "Windows 11 Pro 23H2").
  3. 3Use Quantity for groups of identical machines — 12 identical laptops is one entry with quantity 12, not 12 entries.
  4. 4Optionally add location, the responsible person, and notes (patch status, warranty, network segment), then click Save asset.
  5. 5The asset appears in your table with a purple Manual badge. It's now counted in compliance inventories and visible to Cybermatic Copilot and the report generator — ask Cybermatic Copilot "do any of my manual assets concern you?" and it will flag things like end-of-life operating systems.
  6. 6To remove an entry, click the trash icon on its row.

Tip: The operating system field is the highest-value one to fill in — outdated or unsupported OS versions are among the most common audit findings and attack entry points.
